Quiz night: how amusing!
Last Monday, my husband and I decided to have dinner in a pub downtown.
I don't want to talk here about the food we chose (which was incredibly tasty: I took smoked salmon baked with spinach and cheddar and I surely want to try to cook it as soon as possible!) but I want to spend some words telling you about the amusing "Quiz night" tradition!
In fact, in many pubs in England you can find a "Quiz night" once a week and you can join the game while you are eating or drinking (and, if you are a native english, you are drinking for sure!).
The quiz is about a lot of topics and if you are lucky (or prepared... it's a matter of point of view) you can also win a prize! In that particular occasion, we could win money or wine...
The pub was full of people, a guy who worked there made the questions with a microphone and all we had to write our answers on a private sheet (that we had to buy, for only two pounds, to be allowed to play). At the end, every group should correct the result of another group and assign a score as indicated.
As we were sure about our bad result, we chose the name "The cone of shame" for our group (which actually was constituted by the very both of us)!!!
We corrected the test of another group, which was not very good indeed, but, as it was to late, at the end we decided to go home without waiting for the result!
Anyway, I think the "Quiz night" is something everyone should try once in a life! It's amusing and aggregating...
Thumb up!!!
