My childhood...

Again, I am waiting for an important answer.

I hate to depend on someone who has the power to decide on my next future, but this is my situation now... Oh it's so scary, I don't know where I'm going to stay in the next months: have you ever feel a sense of complete uselessness and perfect consciusness of that?

There is only another place (a part from England, where I am currently) in which I'd like to be right now, forgetting all the present troubles and problems... This place, I don't mind to tell you its name, is were I spent my childhood and adolescence. I didn't live there, actually, but I spent there much time with my family. So, that place is strongly linked to my very sweet memories.

I never loved the city in which I used to live before coming to Cambridge, because I couldn't feel completely part of it... I felt somehow a guest and I didn't like it too much! But that place, oh.. it was the only one in which it seems I could breath fresh and real air.

I remember all the summers there, when the sun was so hot that nobody could stay too long under its rays and outside it was so warm that you had to remain in the shadow of your house...

But however the atmosphere was so clean that I could see deep inside the heart of nature.

It happened only there and probably the reason is that everyone of us can belong only to one place, during his life. We can visit lots of cities and countries and we may enjoy them but, I think, we give our heart only to a single place.

Anyway, I had a perfect stay there.

2008 Maremma pups 082wAlso, it was full of animals and when I was very very young I had a friendship with a big dog like the ones in the pitcure... Actually, I was too young to remember it, but my mother told me about this phase of my life. I would like to keep one of these white, big dogs into my future house (and I'm sure my husband would love it) but they need a lot of space outside and sometimes, people told me, they go crazy if they dont' have to take care of sheeps.

But this is the key of the story: I would like to have sheeps too.

I spent in this place many Christams holydays and sometimes we had snow. Before December 25th I used to go with my mother into woods looking for mos (for we really loved to built beautiful Nativity scenes) and butcher's broom.

I remember winter's days when the countryside was slapped by a strong wind and we used to put a strange item into beds to warm them (I'm sorry, I know its name only in italian.... actually I'm not sure english people have something similar):

But spring and summer were may favourite seasons! Sometimes, in the warm season, I used to wake up very early in the morning because I loved to see sunrise. I looked out of my window and I saw the valley enshrouded in the mist of the morning, in the beautiful light of a sleepy sun which was not yet able to warm fields, and I heard the noise of tractors, working quite far from me, echoed into the valley.

cinigiano1700.jpgI'm sorry, in this pitcure you can't see sunrise, but maybe you'll be able to imagine it.

Anyway, the valley I saw was a part of that one, so you just have to hear tractors far away.....

There are lots of tradition in that place, and fantastic landscapes.... I would be happy if my own children, in the future, could spend part of their time there and feel what I felt when I was just a girl. As, you know, the eyes of childhood can catch all that wonderful nuances that  adults are nomore able to see.

Maybe, we'll spent our existence in England, maybe in that place: they're quite similar from a point of view! Oh, what a silly consideration... but it's true, from my point of view.

I close my article with this picture which talks about life over there and about, somehow, the absence of time...

Have a nice day, wherevere you are.
